St. Louis County Library accepts book donations from the public. Books
donated to any facility in the system become the property of the Library system
as a whole. Typically, these items are not added to the collection and are sold
to benefit the Library.
What kind of materials can I donate?
Donations of books and magazines that are clean and in good condition are
accepted. Donations of compact discs, videocassettes, DVDs, and computer
software must be in their original packaging.
What items will not be accepted?
The Library will not accept Reader's Digest Condensed Book; magazines that
are torn, cut, or more than six months old; computer books that are more than
two years old; textbooks; or encyclopedias.
