Arrangement of the M1407 DP
This DP provides a fiche by fiche listing that enables the researcher to determine the fiche number(s) for a specific claim.

Disallowed claims are listed first in the DP in report and office number order. Report and office number order is also how they appear on the M1407 fiche. The report and office number for a specific claim can be found in either the Consolidated Index of Claims Reported by the Commissioner of Claims to the House of Representatives from 1871-1880, or Southern Loyalists in the Civil War by Gary B. Mills. Pages 1-86 of the DP for M1407 show which fiche number is needed for each report and office number.

Barred claims are listed last in the DP in alphabetical order. They appear on the fiche in alphabetical order also.
