Compton Hill Congregational Church 1881–
1640 South Compton Avenue
St. Louis, Missouri

Organized in 1881 as the Fifth Congregational Church at Clark and 23rd Streets, it was originally founded as a Sunday School that was an offshoot of Pilgrim Church. By 1888 they had changed its name to Compton Hill and moved their location to Compton and Lafayette.

"In 1955, Compton Hill Congregational Church merged with Mount Hope Evangelical and moved to the latter’s church building at 3661 DeTonty Street." St. Louis: Historic Churches & Synagogues, p. 63.
