Dr. Heinz Marxkors |
| Dr. Marxkors was born in
Hövelhof, Paderborn County, in the province of Westphalia, Germany. He
was an assistant lecturer and received his doctorate from the University
of Cologne. In 1961 he began teaching at a commercial college in
Bielefeld, where for many years he served as principal until his
retirement in 1992. Dr. Marxkors says that from 1985 to 2006 he has been
busy with research on emigration and emigrants from the counties of
Büren and Paderborn in Westphalia to the USA, and on immigrants to St.
Libory, Illinois from many different counties of Northern Germany.
