Ordering LDS Microfilm
Special Collections Department of St. Louis County Library is now an authorized branch of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This means that the more than 2 million rolls of  microfilm available through the LDS Family History Library in Salt Lake City can now be ordered by patrons here in the Special Collections Department. Please keep in mind the following:

  • Film must be ordered in person and paid for at the time the order is placed. 

  • Patrons will be notified when their film arrives.

  • Film must be used here in the library.

  • A St. Louis County Library card is not required to order LDS film.

Determining Correct Film Numbers
Patrons can determine the correct film number(s) to order through either of the following two sources:

  1. The Family History Library's web site, www.familysearch.org, makes its Family History Library Catalog available online

  2. CD-ROM version of the Family History Library Catalog is available on each of the four public PCs in Special Collections.

What Can and Cannot be Ordered through Special Collections
Only LDS
microfilms may be ordered here in Special Collections. The Family History Library's holdings of microfiche and books (in paper format or microfiche) cannot be ordered through Special Collections. 

Fees & Renewals
Patrons pay $6.00 shipping and mailing costs to borrow a roll of film for 1 month. Films may be renewed twice. Each renewal is for an additional month at a cost of $5.50 per renewal.
After the second renewal, the film must be sent back to Salt Lake.
