Holy Cross was originally
established as a subsidiary of
Trinity Church, the "mother
church" of Lutheran
churches in the St. Louis area.
This "Generalgemeinde"
included four district churches,
the congregations of Trinity,
Holy Cross, Immanuel and Zion.
These congregations became
independent in 1887.
