Immanuel Lutheran Church is the second oldest Lutheran congregation in St. Louis, with Trinity Lutheran being the first. Immanuel Lutheran was formed out of Trinity Lutheran and dedicated in 1848 at its original location, Eleventh Street and Franklin Avenue. It was an important church in the growing German community.
