Declaration of Intention for
Josef Praskafsky

When the Declarations of Intention (Vol. 51) from U.S. District Court - Eastern Division, Eastern Judicial District of Missouri were microfilmed, the declarations of Josef Praskafsky and Meyer Berman – and the letters which were attached to each declaration – were not microfilmed.  To make copies  available to researchers, we have scanned these images and placed them on this web site.

Special Collections wishes to thank the staff of the National Archives Central Plains Region in Kansas City who provided photocopies of these two unfilmed items.

Letter attached to the Declaration of Intention for Josef Praskafsky

This letter at the left, written by the U.S. Dept of Labor, Bureau of Naturalization to the Clerk of the U.S. District Court, Eastern Judicial District of Mo. in St. Louis, requests a certified copy of Meyer Berman's Declaration of Intention. The date written on the message stamped across the letter is 24 August 1925. Possibly that is when Mr. Berman went to file his petition for naturalization and needed proof that he had filed his declaration of intention.
