The collection contains library holdings of the St. Louis Genealogical Society and the National Genealogical Society in addition to the genealogical and local history materials of the St. Louis County Library.

Tours

Tours of Special Collections are offered at 10:30 a.m. on the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Saturday of each month. Come to the Reference Desk in the department. No reservations are needed. Since the tour includes two other floors, an elevator is available if needed.
 

The Missouri State Archives Death Certificate Database is now online and consists of over two million individual death certificates from 1910-1957.
Indexes
bookOnline indexes relating to St. Louis and Missouri ancestors have been produced by volunteers and staff of Special Collections. These ongoing indexing projects cover records such as church, naturalization, birth, newspaper, and Missouri's U.S. Colored Troops. More...
Online Databases: Genealogy 
A wide range of information for genealogists is available through online databases accessible in Special Collections and at all St. Louis County Library branches. When available, REMOTE ACCESS requires a valid St. Louis County Library card and residence within the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area.
