St. Louis County Library Foundation will host a grand opening ceremony for the new teen center at the Grand Glaize Branch on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m. Media are invited to attend the opening. The Grand Glaize Branch is located at 1010 Meramec Station Road in Manchester, MO.
The new teen center is named after Marcia and Sanford Jaffe, whose generous support made the teen center possible. The St. Louis County Library Foundation has been raising funds for teen centers since 2009. Support from the Foundation has allowed the library district to transform areas of a branch into colorful, inviting areas designed by and for teens.
The Grand Glaize Teen Center is the library's ninth teen center. The space was designed by Arcturis and is named after Marcia and Sanford Jaffe, who donated funding to help build the new space.
The Foundation's teen center initiative was launched in 2009. At that time, only five teen centers existed within the 20-branch library system.
