The Natural Bridge Branch opened in its current location on May 24, 1993. This building replaced the first Natural Bridge Branch, which was one mile east and served as library headquarters from 1951-60. The branch's proximity to three schools and the University of Missouri campus make it a natural gathering place for students. In 2016, the branch underwent extensive renovations as part of the Your Library Renewed campaign. The renovated space includes the Emerson Technology lab, and a children's area sponsored by Cardinals Care featuring a mural of the St. Louis skyline as seen from Busch Stadium. The branch also includes two community meetings rooms, the larger of which is sponsored by "House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon, a St. Louis native.
