SLCL Presents the Queen of Humorous Suspense Elaine Viets

Date:
Mon, 04/28/2014 (All day)
The St. Louis County Library Foundation is pleased to present Elaine Viets for a discussion and signing of the latest installment in her Dead-End Jobs mystery series "Catnapped!" on Monday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from Left Bank Books.

Bestselling suspense author, Elaine Viets returns to St. Louis to discuss the latest in her sensationally popular series featuring private investigator Helen Hawthorne. In "Catnapped," Helen is on the trail of two killers and a kitty kidnapper.

Socialite Trish Barrymore and her rich husband Mort can agree on one thing in their bitter divorce: shared custody of their beloved cat. But when Mort is murdered and the cat nowhere to be found, it's up to husband and wife P.I. team Helen Hawthorne and Phil Sagemont to go undercover in the world of cat shows to find the catnapper - and Mort's killer.

Elaine Viets's bestselling Dead-End Job series is a satiric look at a serious subject, the minimum wage world. Her character, Helen Hawthorne, works a different low-paying job each book.

A former St. Louis Post Dispatch columnist, Elaine Viets is also the author of the Josie Marcus Mystery Shopper series and numerous short stories. Marilyn Stasio of the New York Times praises her mysteries as "clever" and "quick-witted." Elaine won the Agatha and the Anthony Awards and two Emmys for her prime-time television features.

Program sites are accessible. Upon two weeks notice, accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Contact St. Louis County Library by phone 314-994-3300 or visit www.slcl.org.
