Author James Kennedy will visit the Florissant Valley Branch of St. Louis County Library for the debut of the Story Maker's Club on Wednesday, September 18, 7:00 p.m. Kennedy is the author of "Order of Odd Fish" and founder of the 90-second Newbery Film Festival. The branch is located at 195 New Florissant Rd., S., Florissant, MO, 63031-6796. The program is free, open to the public and recommended for ages 9-13.
The Story Maker's Club is for children interested in having fun with words and telling stories in a variety of formats. Some of the formats will be stop-motion animation, improv, and reader's theater. The club will meet on the third Wednesday of each month.
James Kennedy's high-spirited stories have made him a favorite at libraries, book festivals, book stores and schools. His writing has been described as whimsical, outrageous, mind-boggling, surreal and fanciful. His work with the 90-Second Newbery Film Festival demonstrates wit and creativity.
