With the NBA season finally in full swing, now might be the time to check out some new and classic basketball books from the St. Louis County Library. Here are just a few of the many titles available to read during the upcoming NBA season:

"Basketball's Greatest Stars" by Michael Grange is a popular book with biographical information and analysis of fifty players, past and present..

"Doc: The Rise And Rise Of Julius Erving" by Vincent Mallozzi traces the career of Dr. J, from the University of Massachusetts to the Philadelphia '76ers.

"Pistol: The Life Of Pete Maravich" by Mark Kriegel is a biography of the late Louisiana State record setting player.

"Shaq Uncut: My Story" by Shaquille O'Neal with Jack MacMullan is a recent New York Times Best Seller written by the four-time NBA champion.

"Shooting Stars" by LeBron James and Buzz Bissinger tells the story of LeBron James' seventh grade basketball team that qualified for the national tournament.

"St Louis Hawks: A Gallery Of Images And Memorabilia" by Greg Marecek provides details and photos of the professional St. Louis basketball team from 1955-1968.

"When The Game Was Ours" by Larry Bird & Earvin "Magic" Johnson with Jackie MacMullan describes the 1980's rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers.
