For fans of The Hold Steady, the upcoming solo show by front man Craig Finn is met with eager anticipation. Finn and his cohorts in The Hold Steady arrived on the music scene with "Separation Sunday" in 2005, an album met with critical praise for its power pop sound and dense lyrics reminiscent of 1970s Bruce Springsteen.
The library has several of their more recent discs in the collection, including 2008's "Stay Positive" which propelled the band into the mainstream of alternative rock. This was followed by the live disc and documentary "A Positive Rage" in 2009 and "Heaven is Whenever" in 2010. These albums and extensive touring have helped The Hold Steady solidify a place on college and independent radio stations and attract a wider audience. The Hold Steady had the pleasure of headlining the 2011 Loufest in Forest Park as well. Come check out a disc or two from the library and then head down to Off Broadway on February 10 to see Craig Finn playing songs from his solo album as well as The Hold Steady catalog.
