The St. Louis County Library Foundation's Reading Garden Event Series is pleased to present St. Louis' most popular young adult author Ridley Pearson for a discussion and signing of the latest installment in his popular series "Kingdom Keepers V: Shell Game" on Saturday, April 7, at 7:00 p.m. at Library Headquarters, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
The program is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Books for signing will be available at the event from Pudd'nHead Books.
The fifth novel in the Kingdom Keepers series takes to the high seas! The teen protectors of Disneyworld are back for this new thrilling story that takes readers below decks on the Disney Dream cruise ship. Finn, Maybeck, Charlene, Willa, and Philby are to attend the cruise as celebrity guests, and to perform a ribbon cutting for the Disney Host Interactive server to go live. The Dream is now the most advanced cruise ship in the world.
But all is not right below decks. Only the Kingdom Keepers know the truth behind their invitation: the Overtakers have infiltrated the ship as "stowaways" and have stolen an important journal that once belonged to Walt Disney himself. The ship sets sail filled with enthusiastic guests and crew, and the battle is on in new and exotic arenas. But the end game is far more complicated and intense than anything the Kingdom Keepers had planned on. If the Overtakers get their way, a power will be unleashed that no one will possess the ability to vanquish.
St. Louis writer Ridley Pearson is the award-winning co-author, along with Dave Barry, of the "Peter and the Starcatchers" series. In addition to the Kingdom Keepers series, Pearson is also the author of the young adult thrillers" Steel Trapp: The Challenge" and "Steel Trapp: The Academy." He has written more than twenty bestselling crime novels for adults.
St. Louis County Library Foundation's Reading Garden Event Series hosts free family events with authors and musicians. Sponsors include Commerce Bank, Companion, and the Sara Guth Costigan Memorial Fund.
Program sites are accessible. Upon two weeks notice, accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Contact St. Louis County Library by phone 314-994-3300 or visit www.slcl.org.
