Ask a Librarian
We will answer chat, e-mail and telephone questions that require limited research, such as confirming a date, looking up a phone number or finding articles on a specific topic. We cannot answer legal or medical questions requiring more than a simple definition. Please visit your local library for help with questions requiring in-depth research.

Book a Librarian, a service at Library Headquarters, provides 30 minute,
one-on-one training sessions to find information and/or use the Library’s
resources. Advance reservation is required. To Book a Librarian, call the
Reference Department at 314-994-3300, ext. 216.

Chat is available Monday
through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our chat service uses Cookie files which prevent us from insuring your confidentiality. Read about Cookies and privacy. Note: Inappropriate behavior or use of profanity will result in the termination of your chat session.
