How It Works:

1. Sign up for the teen summer reading club starting May 12 at your local branch.

2. Keep track of your reading online or pick up a log sheet at any SLCL location. Books, magazines, graphic novels and audiobooks all count!

3. When you complete a level, visit a branch to collect your reward. 

The summer reading club ends Saturday, August 2. Prizes must be redeemed by Saturday, August 9.

Play games and meet new friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Bring your own game or play one of ours. Grades 6-12. The gaming takes place in the teen area of the branch.

Thornhill Branch

Chess is one of the oldest and most complex games of all time. It's a fascinating game of reason and logic, where you win by out-thinking, out-planning, and out-smarting your opponent. Bring your chess board and enjoy playing chess with others at the Thornhill Branch. The chess club will meet the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Ages 8-Adult.

For older kids and adults we have a reader's theater format skit, Who Knows What Lurks in the Back of the Fridge?
Our Refrigerators do and they're telling all! Imagine that your refrigerator confronted you about the food you throw away. This production is in a reader's theater format that includes mini-skits, contests, limericks, and even a song. Ages 10 - adults.

Join us to knit, crochet or work on other fiber arts. Bring in a project you have already begun, start a new one, or share ideas and techniques with experienced knitters. Library staff members can provide assistance to beginners. Please bring your supplies.
