How It Works:

1. Sign up for the teen summer reading club starting May 12 at your local branch.

2. Keep track of your reading online or pick up a log sheet at any SLCL location. Books, magazines, graphic novels and audiobooks all count!

3. When you complete a level, visit a branch to collect your reward. 

The summer reading club ends Saturday, August 2. Prizes must be redeemed by Saturday, August 9.

Want to help plan teen Library programs? Then join Daniel Boone Teen Advisory Group (TAG) where you can earn volunteer hours, help test teen programs, share your opinions and ideas, and make new friends. Ages 12-18. TAG meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Cooperate and dominate your fellow teens on the PS3, Xbox 360, Kinect and Wii. There is safety in numbers so feel free to bring friends. All games are rated Teen and under. Ages 12-18. Auditorium

Florissant Valley Branch

Attend this free six-week workshop to learn computer skills like word processing, internet safety and basic programming using Scratch software. The courses are designed for 4th-8th grade students. In order to complete the course and earn a free computer, KIDS MUST ATTEND EVERY CLASS. Upon graduation students will receive a computer, monitor and peripherals (Keyboard, mouse), audio speakers and a 4GB flash drive.

Presented by St. Louis Byte Works. Registration is required by calling 314-994-3300. You MUST call this number and speak to Customer Connect. Registration at the library is NOT allowed. Limited to 12 students (only one person per household may participate).

Chess is one of the oldest and most complex games of all time. It's a fascinating game of reason and logic, where you win by out-thinking, out-planning, and out-smarting your opponent. Bring your chess board and enjoy playing chess with others at the Thornhill Branch. The chess club will meet the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Ages 8-Adult.

Interested in volunteering at the Sachs Branch over the summer? We are looking for a group of teens to assist with the summer reading club, various programs and other duties. You will need to complete a volunteer application before signing up for one of the mandatory training sessions which will provide you with the knowledge to become an all-star volunteer.
Going into grades 7-12. Registration required.
