Enjoy an evening with one of our most respected and loved
folksingers, John McCutcheon. McCutcheon is a master of a dozen
different traditional instruments, most notably the rare and
beautiful hammer dulcimer. Critics and singers around the globe have
hailed his songwriting; his 30 recordings have garnered every
imaginable honor including seven Grammy nominations.

The St. Louis County Library Foundation presents Roy Morris, Jr.
Author of “Lighting Out For the Territory: How Samuel Clemens Headed
West and Became Mark Twain”
“Lighting Out for the Territory” chronicles Mark Twain’s
life-changing early years in the Wild West where he began his
writing career and shaped himself into America’s most celebrated
author. Roy Morris, Jr. is the author of five previous books on the
Civil War era. He is the editor of Military Heritage, the founding
editor of America’s Civil War magazine, and a consultant for A&E
Network and the History Channel.

The St. Louis County Library’s Reading Garden Event Series presents
Author & Illustrator Uri Shulevitz
Children's author and illustrator Uri Shulevitz will discuss his
prolific career and answer questions. Mr. Shulevitz has illustrated
over forty books. He won the Caldecott Medal in 1969 for his
illustration of "The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship." A book
signing will follow the program. Books for signing will be available
