Accessibility Policy

The St. Louis County Library complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provides a variety of accommodations and services for people with disabilities. The St. Louis County Library makes its best effort to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities who are patrons of and visitors to the library facilities. 

Physical Accommodations

Physical accommodations available at various library branches may include the following:

  • Handicapped-accessible parking
  • Ramp entrances
  • Power doors
  • Elevators
  • Accessible aisles and routes inside buildings
  • Accessible restrooms, water fountains and public telephones
  • Low service desks
  •  Adjustable or low workstations
  • Large monitors

Library Materials of Interest

In addition to braille books and audio books, the St. Louis County Library may also offer large-print items, including books, magazines, and newspapers; and downloadable books and videos. 

Services from Home

The following homebound services are available at various branches:

  • Telephone service 314-994-3300
  • Home delivery of the St. Louis County Library's books and materials
  • Telephone access to Newsline services (contact Wolfner Library for more information at 1-800-392-2614)

Additional accommodations may be made for persons with disabilities upon request.  Please make requests for accommodations as early as possible to allow time for coordination of services and assistive technology, but no later than two weeks prior to the date services are needed.
