St. Louis County Library is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Clark Family Branch, located at 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The opening will occur in two phases. On June 1, 2024 the Post Event Space will open to the public at 1:00 p.m. for a ticketed event with Darius Rucker, of Hootie and the Blowfish and country music fame; he will discuss his new memoir, “Life’s Too Short.” On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Clark Family Branch will be held at 9:00 a.m. and the entire branch will open to the public immediately following.

St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and Left Bank Books are pleased to host a special event with acclaimed novelist Amy Tan for a discussion and signing of her new book “The Backyard Bird Chronicles.” The event will take place on Saturday, May 11, 7:00 p.m. at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Rd. St. Louis MO 63117. Amy Tan will be in conversation with Joan E. Strassmann, Washington University Professor of Biology and author of “Slow Birding: The Art and Science of Enjoying the Birds in Your Own Backyard.”

St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and The Novel Neighbor present acclaimed, Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Jane Smiley for a discussion of “Lucky,” her first novel set in St. Louis in over 20 years. The event will take place on Thursday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant’s View Branch, 9700 Musick Rd., St. Louis MO, 63123. The program is free and open to the public. St. Louis County Library will host a series of gaming events in spring and summer 2024 in collaboration with the BGG Foundation. Gaming @ the Library will offer a fun and interactive gaming experience for ages 18 and under. Representatives from the BGG Foundation will provide a range of activities from the newest consoles to board games and virtual reality experiences. The programs are geared towards all skill levels and are tailored to create an inclusive and enjoyable environment for all.
