Specialized Items

Specialized items can be checked out for three months to St. Louis County residents. Please complete an application to be added to the waitlist to receive one of our specialized accessibility items. Applicants will be notified when the item becomes available.

A wearable visual impairment solution that helps you read text, recognize faces, identify products, and more. The device attaches to glasses and comes with a stand for stationary use, as well as a small Bluetooth speaker.

Visual Accessibility Kits

The Visual Accessibility Kit for low vision individuals will be available for a regular 21-day checkout to anyone with an SLCL card (no eligibility requirements).

In conjunction with our Book a Navigator resource, the following organizations are wonderful sources to receive training on the visual assistive devices we offer for check out through the catalog as well as the devices we offer on an application basis.
