Anime Month at Weber Road Branch

Every Wednesday in September the Weber Road Branch of St. Louis County Library will hold a special program for teen fans of the Japanese art form anime. Anime Month will involve discussions, crafts and a special visit by artist Matt Bryan, illustrator of “The Book of Da.” The Weber Road Branch is located at 4444 Weber Road, St. Louis, MO 63123. The programs are free, but registration is required.

Wednesday, September 4, 3:00 p.m.
Live Action Comic Illustration
Meet comic book artist Matt Bryan for a collaborative drawing session. See if he can draw whatever you throw at him and learn how to create your own anime characters.
Ages 12–18. Registration required.
Wednesday, September 11, 3:00 p.m.
Candy Sushi
Make a sweet version of this Japanese delicacy and practice your chopsticks skills.
Ages 12–18. Registration required.
Wednesday, September 18, 3:00 p.m.
Anime Buttons and Wallets
Up–cycle some anime books into buttons and wallets using your imagination. Ages 12–18. Registration required.
Wednesday, September 25, 3:00 p.m.
Comic Key Chains and Hair Clips Madness
Use fuse beads to make your own pixelated comic book characters and turn them into a key chain or hair accessory.
Ages 12–18. Registration required.
