The Jamestown Bluffs Branch of St. Louis County Library will host an exhibit of flowers grown locally and deemed excellent by the Gardeners of Florissant. The exhibit will take place on Saturday, August 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Jamestown Bluffs Branch, 4153 N. Hwy 67, Florissant, MO 63034. This program is free and open to the public.
Each year, the Gardeners of Florissant group solicits entries from local gardeners to show off their accomplishments. The Gardeners award ribbons to the best flowers. Those flowers will be displayed at the library so that members of the public can share in the beauty exemplified in North County gardens.
The Gardeners of Florissant is a local group committed to protecting and beautifying the environment and sharing their knowledge with others. They lend their expertise to several annual events such as Arbor Day, Valley of the Flowers Festival, and the Civic Center Rose Garden.
The Gardeners are among those participating in the Community Garden at the Prairie Commons Branch of St. Louis County Library. The Community Garden pairs the library with Gateway Greening to repurpose what was a lawn into raised garden beds planted and tended by interested community members.
