This index lists names of emigrants from specific districts in the former kingdoms of Westphalia and Hanover (the present-day states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony) as found in volumes published by Dr. Heinz Marxkors. Most volumes list emigrants that may have settled anywhere in the U.S., but some deal specifically with emigration to St. Libory, St. Clair County, Illinois. Information in the volumes can vary but may include birth place and date, parents’ names, name of spouse, date of marriage, and other information.
Indexing was done by the History and Genealogy Department staff members and volunteers with the permission of Dr. Heinz Marxkors.
