St. Louis County Library and the Mid East Area Agency on Aging will offer a new program series for seniors at select SLCL branches beginning in September. Healthy Living for Seniors will cover a range of subjects of special interest to older people such as health and wellness, nutrition, scam prevention and retirement. Lunch and transportation to the library are also being offered by the Mid East Area Agency on Aging (MEAAA.) The programs, transportation and lunch are all donation-based for adults aged 60 and older. Registration through the MEAAA is required by calling 1-800-243-6060 or visiting www.agingmissouri.org.
SLCL offers a variety of programs for older adults including homebound service for individuals unable to visit the library due to illness, bookmobile service to area nursing homes and retirements centers, as well as branch programs such as bingo, craft clubs, bridge, book discussion clubs and more.
