The three branches currently closed for construction are making big progress! We expect to reopen the Bridgeton Trails and Florissant Valley branches this summer, the Daniel Boone Branch will reopen in the fall. Check out photos of the construction progress.
Several exciting new features will be introduced at the renovated branches such as private study rooms, family restrooms, quite reading areas and collaborative work spaces. The Florissant Valley and Daniel Boone branches will both have an entire floor dedicated to children's services, with lots of fun, interactive features. Renovated locations will also receive new furniture and carpeting, new public computers and plenty of comfortable seating.
Looking ahead, Grand Glaize will be the next branch to undergo renovations starting in the fall. The branch will be expanded by 5,380 square feet to create a new children’s area. Included in the expanded children’s room will be interactive stations, reading nooks, and “hideout spaces,” as well as the colorful, child-friendly features seen at the other completed branches. A new entrance to Grand Glaize will be created on the southwest side of the branch, with an exterior overhang. Additional windows will be added, bringing abundant natural light inside.
Other Phase II projects include the Mid-County, Thornhill and Meramec Valley branches. These projects will take place in late 2017 or early 2018. Stay tuned for details!
