The St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Reading Garden Event Series is pleased to present popular young adult writing duo Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl for a discussion and signing of the first installment in their new series, “Dangerous Creatures” on Tuesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Louis County Library – Daniel Boone location, 300 Clarkson Road, Ellisville, MO.
The program is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Books for signing will be available at the event from Barnes & Noble.
Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthors, are returning to the Beautiful Creatures world with a new tale of love and magic.
Departing the southern gothic town of Gatlin for New York City, Dark Caster Ridley Duchannes, and her wannabe rocker boyfriend Wesley “Link” Lincoln leave Stonewall Jackson High School and their adolescence behind. As a Siren, Ridley readily admits she’s no good—she won’t hesitate to use her powers to control Mortals at will—but her overconfidence has cost her and now she has debts to settle in the city. Link’s determined to make his rock-star dreams come true, even if it means continuing to lie to his conservative family about his plans.
Garcia and Stohl conjure up an alternative New York with a sinister and edgier realm just below the surface. Ridley and Link, whose relationship has never been without its complications, are adults now and on their own in a new city where they learn the stakes have never been higher.
Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl are longtime friends and coauthors of the #1 New York Times bestselling Beautiful Creatures series. The first book in the series, “Beautiful Creatures,” is now a major motion picture. In addition to writing together, they have written solo novels: “Unbreakable,” an instant New York Times bestseller and the first book in Kami's series, The Legion; and “Icons,” the first book in Margaret's Icons series, which is currently in development as a feature film. Margaret and Kami are currently at work on the sequel to “Dangerous Creatures,” available in spring 2015.
