St. Louis County Board of Elections and St. Louis County Library Sponsor “I Voted” Sticker Contest

Press Release

Monday, September 27, 2021 - 9:56a.m.

Beginning September 27, voters and aspiring voters are invited to submit entries for the “I Voted” sticker contest hosted by the St. Louis County Board of Elections in partnership with the St. Louis County Library. The contest is open to individuals in the following categories: 6th – 8th grade, 9th – 12th grade and 18 years or older. Prizes will be awarded to the finalists and semi-finalists in each category.

Kristen Sorth, Director and CEO of St. Louis County Library said, "This is a fun opportunity for kids and even adults to reimagine the iconic I Voted sticker! The library is a creative hub, so it makes sense to partner with the Board of Elections on this contest. We look forward to seeing the designs!"

Both digital and hand drawn entries are permitted in the contest. Artwork should be non-partisan, include the phrase “I Voted” or “I Voted in St. Louis County” and express a message of voting and elections through words or pictures. Only one entry may be submitted per person and all entries are due by 5 p.m. on October 15th.

Beginning October 18, entries will be judged for artistic skill and technique excellence, meaningful and consistent theme and uniqueness of the design by representatives of the election board and library. Of the entries received, the judging panel will select the top three semi-finalist designs in each category. On November 5th, voting will open to the public to choose the winning design in each category and the three finalists will be announced on November 15th. Semi-finalists will be awarded with a small plaque containing their artwork while finalists will receive a large plaque containing their artwork and a $50 VISA gift card. In addition, the final artwork will be professionally printed and distributed to all polling places throughout the county beginning in 2022.
