St. Louis County Library is excited to announce that Phase I of the Capital Improvement Project is moving forward. Information about the building projects is now available at www.slcl.org/your-library-renewed.
In 2012, voters approved a $.06 tax increase to fund new facilities and upgrades to existing structures, as well as enhanced library programs and services. SLCL is moving forward with that plan, which includes two new facilities starting construction this year (replacement branches for Tesson Ferry and Lewis & Clark), as well as upgrades and renovations at three branches (Indian Trails, Jamestown Bluffs and Rock Road.)
New building projects funded by Prop L will feature open floor plans, comfortable seating, enhanced children's areas, abundant natural light, study areas, meeting spaces and a technology-friendly design. All of the new buildings will incorporate sustainable design strategies. The buildings will provide a safe and accessible place for people to come to for information, programs, collaboration, community and fun.
Facility upgrades will include a focus on making buildings more accessible, additional improvements may include renovated rest rooms, new furniture and seating options, fresh paint and carpeting, digital signage and upgraded parking lots.
Details about the building projects will be posted to www.slcl.org/your-library-renewed as they become available. The website also includes a link for customer feedback and a sign-up form to obtain updates.
