Come cheer on your favorite as five local bands compete for cash prizes and bragging rights!

The three bands with the most votes, plus two critics’ choices will be the five finalists to compete at the Battle of the Bands on Friday, July 31 at Clark Family Branch. 

Cash prizes awarded for 1st ($500) and 2nd ($300) place.

Band Entries

Bands can enter online between June 1-26.

Vote Daily for Your Favorite Band

Once we have a list of participating bands, you'll be able to listen and cast your daily votes for your favorite between July 1-12!

Official Rules

  1. Band must be comprised of at least two (2) members.
  2. Half of the band’s members must be under the age of twenty (20).
  3. One or more of the band members must have a St. Louis County Library card.
  4. All lyrics must be appropriate in language and subject and family-friendly.
  5. Any costumes must be appropriate and family-friendly.
  6. Band must submit one original song for the online voting by providing a link to an MP3 or YouTube performance of the song, along with written lyrics.
  7. The three (3) bands with the most votes, plus two (2) critics’ choices will be the five (5) finalists to perform at the Teen Battle of the Bands on Friday, July 31 at Clark Family Branch.
  8. If chosen as a finalist, the band will perform their online submission, plus additional songs with total performance time not to exceed 20 minutes.
  9. Finalists must submit written lyrics for all songs to be performed by Monday, July 27.
  10. Bands must supply their own instruments and related gear. St. Louis County Library will provide a drum set, microphones and sound equipment. Bands are responsible for any damage done to equipment provided by the library.
  11. At the Teen Battle of the Bands, judging will be based on musical ability, originality and stage presence. All judges’ decisions are final.
