Startup Studio: Teen Entrepreneurship and Product Design Workshop
April 8-May 13, 2025 – Tuesdays, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
The Teen Startup Studio is an engaging six-week journey into the world of business ownership. Apply to take part in a hands-on workshop where you'll learn the skills to turn your creative ideas into successful businesses. In our "Startup Studio," you'll:
- Develop your entrepreneurial mindset: Learn about market research, business planning, and financial literacy.
- Master product design skills: Utilize the library's creative lab, including 3D printers, laser cutters, large format printing, and vinyl cutters, to design and prototype innovative products.
- Gain valuable sales and marketing experience: Learn how to effectively market and sell your products, culminating in a special market where you can showcase and sell our creations.
- Kickstart your business: Receive funding for startup materials, with a set budget provided to help you bring your product ideas to life.
The series will take place on Tuesdays from April 8-May 13 at 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the Public Market open to all on Saturday, May 31. All sessions and the market will take place at our Clark Family Branch in the Creative Lab. Applicants must be in high school in order to participate.
Application Process
Applications accepted March 1-28. Participants will be contacted if they are selected for the workshop by late-March.
A library card is not required to apply although it is encouraged to have a current SLCL library card to have access to our small business databases.
Program Requirements
- 80% participation in the program to complete
- In-person attendance
- All goods must be produced directly by you or your business
