The Teen Startup Studio is an engaging six-week introduction to the world of entrepreneurship and product design for teen artists, crafters, and makers in grades 9-12. Apply now for a chance to be one of sixteen teens who’ll explore what it takes to start a business and turn their creations into cash.
 

In this hands-on workshop series, participants will:

• Practice product design and prototyping skills by utilizing 3D printers, large-format printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and more during open studio time in the library’s Creative Lab.
• Develop an entrepreneurial mindset by conducting market research, making a business plan, maintaining a budget, pitching their product(s), and more.
• Receive expert advice from guest speakers who are professionals in fields of finance, sales, marketing, and more.
• Receive credits to cover the cost of materials and supplies in the library’s Creative Lab.
• Be given the opportunity to showcase and sell their product(s) at the library’s Novel Creations Pop-Up Market on Small Business Saturday, November 28.

Eligibility

Teens must be in high school (i.e., in grades 9–12) by the start of the program. 

Teens must be able to meet weekly at the Clark Family Branch (1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd.) on Thursdays, October 1-November 5 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Requirements

• In-person attendance. 
• Miss no more than one class.
• Participants must incorporate the library’s Creative Lab resources into the development of their products.
