Rendering of Jaffe Family Branch with sidewalk and green space

The new branch will be named after Guy Jaffe and Judy Schwartz Jaffe, who donated $1 million to the project. For the past 39 years, Guy Jaffe and Judy Schwartz Jaffe created and operated American Dental Sales, which helps dentists transition in and out of private practice. The Guy B. Jaffe and Judy Schwartz Jaffe Charitable Foundation held at the St. Louis Community Foundation offers financial support to organizations providing services within the impact areas of entrepreneurships and economic development, education and cultural arts.

The new Guy and Judy Jaffe Family Branch is approximately 5,000 square feet larger than the current branch, with a footprint of 20,700 square feet. The building is moving to the northwest edge of the property, where it will connect with an existing reading garden. Preliminary plans include a coffee shop in partnership with Goshen Coffee Roasters, a dynamic children’s space, a teen area, a larger community meeting room, 8 study rooms, an outdoor patio and enhanced reading garden. Other key features include abundant natural light, comfortable seating, collaborative work spaces, and a large collection of books for all ages.

The branch includes the Jai Nagarkatti Monsanto Company Reading Garden, which opened in 2015. The branch underwent extensive renovations in 2016 as part of the Your Library Renewed campaign.
