Acclaimed Suspense Author John McMahon Launches Thrilling New Detective Series
St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and The Novel Neighbor are pleased to host acclaimed thriller author John McMahon for a discussion and signing of “Head Cases,” a unique addition to the spy-thriller genre and soon to be a new series on HBO Max.
The event will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 7:00 p.m. at the Clark Family Branch, 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131. Books will be available for purchase and signing from The Novel Neighbor.
“Head Cases” follows an enigmatic group of neurodiverse FBI agents as they hunt down a murderer seeking his own justice in this electrifying series debut.
FBI Agent Gardner Camden is an analytical genius with an affinity for puzzles. Gardner and his squad of brilliant yet quirky agents make up the Patterns and Recognition (PAR) unit, the FBI’s hidden edge, brought in for cases that no one else can solve.
When DNA links a murder victim to a serial killer long presumed dead, the team springs into action.
Along with Gardner, PAR consists of a mathematician, a weapons expert, a computer analyst, and their leader, a career agent. Each of them must use every skill they have to solve the riddle of the killer’s identity. But with the perpetrator somehow learning more and more about the team at PAR, can they protect themselves and their families…before it’s too late?
With an enigmatic case that will keep readers on the edge of their seats and a thoroughly engaging ensemble cast, John McMahon’s “Head Cases” is a triumph.
The New York Times listed John McMahon’s debut novel, “The Good Detective” among their “Top Ten Crime Novels of 2019.” The book was a finalist for the 2020 Edgar Award for Best First Novel. His follow up, “The Evil Men Do” was also a New York Times “Top Ten Crime Novel” for 2020.
“Head Cases” was part of a six-way auction in Hollywood and is in preproduction at HBO MAX as a TV series.
