Chromebooks

Patrons can now borrow a Chromebook lap top for in-library use when visiting any SLCL branch. Chromebooks can be used for easy online access for tasks such as checking email, and come equipped with a camera for video conferencing. Simply bring your library card to the circulation desk and ask a staff person for assistance.

Check Out a Musical Instrument at St. Louis County Library

St. Louis County Library will introduce a musical instrument lending program this summer. Starting in June, four branches will offer musical instruments for check-out, including ukuleles, acoustic guitars, banjos and bongos. Patrons with a valid library card will be able to take home the musical instrument of their choice for two weeks. Instructional music books and DVDs are included with most of the instruments, along with a hard case to protect it from damage.

Construction Begins on New Meramec Valley Branch

SLCL broke ground on the new Meramec Valley Branch on May 30. The new branch will be located at 1501 San Simeon Way in unincorporated St. Louis County. The seven-acre site was previously home to Marshall’s Nursery. The new Meramec Valley Branch will be a full service library branch encompassing 21,000 square feet. Amenities will include a Discovery Zone for children, private study rooms, a quiet reading room, a community meeting room, a business center, a community garden, a walking path, and an outdoor reading deck. The branch is expected to be complete in early 2019.

St. Louis County Library broke ground on the new Meramec Valley Branch on May 30. The new branch will be located at 1501 San Simeon Way in unincorporated St. Louis County. The seven-acre site was previously home to Marshall’s Nursery, but has been cleared in preparation for construction to begin. Attendees gathered under a large tent to hear Library Director Kristen Sorth speak about the new branch. “Staff and patrons have been eagerly awaiting the new Meramec Valley Branch, and they won’t be disappointed.
