Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA)
We will look up information to support RECA residency using library resources and free online resources. Due to research limitations, we may not be able to fulfill all lookup requests.
Timeline
- Time to fulfill a request is dependent on the subject, nature and size of the request.
- The process is dependent upon the availability of staff members to locate items, the volume of the specific request, other active requests, and the on-going work of staff members.
- Responses to lookup requests could take up to 2-3 weeks to process.
- Due to the influx of requests please do not call the History and Genealogy Department to check on your request. The results will be returned as an electronic file by email.
Restrictions
- We are unable to complete RECA Claim Forms on behalf of individuals
- We are unable to access medical records
- Due to the information provided in the request, we may still need to reach out to you for additional information
- Failure to submit details may result in a delay or inability to process your request
Scams
We will never require any bank account information or enter into a contract to facilitate the fulfilment of these requests.
