Lexia Core5 Reading and Lexia PowerUp Literacy are engaging, research-based programs designed to strengthen reading skills for learners from elementary through high school.

Access is limited. Learners must complete a sign-up form to request an account.

Lexia Learning provides personalized, adaptive instruction to help learners build critical reading and literacy skills at every level. Through interactive lessons and targeted practice, learners strengthen abilities such as:

  • Phonological awareness and phonics
  • Vocabulary development
  • Decoding and spelling
  • Grammar and written communication
  • Reading fluency
  • Comprehension and higher-order thinking

Learners are placed into the appropriate program based on their grade level:

  • Lexia Core5 Reading supports learners in grades Pre-K–5 by developing foundational literacy skills.
  • Lexia PowerUp Literacy helps learners in grades 6–12 close reading gaps and advance their literacy skills for academic and career success.

Both programs provide individualized learning paths tailored to each learner’s needs, encouraging growth, confidence, and independence.

Accessing Lexia Learning

A library card and an email address are required to use this resource.

Because Lexia Learning is a seat-based resource with limited availability, learners must request an account by completing our sign-up form.

Accounts are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the registration form is complete, you will receive an activation email from information@slcl.org 1-3 business days after completion. A username will be generated for the account based on the first and last name of the learner and the password will be set to the library card number.

Once approved, learners will receive an email with login information and instructions to get started. Each learner will have 90 days to use the Lexia platform. Because access is limited to a set number of users at one time, this time limit ensures that all interested patrons have an equal opportunity to benefit from the resource. After 90 days, accounts may be archived to make room for others.

At this time, Lexia is only available on a desktop computer or a laptop. For technical assistance with Lexia, please fill out their Contact Us form.

Waitlist for Additional Learners

Once all seats are filled, additional learners will be placed on a waiting list. They will receive an email notification with their place in line and will be contacted when a spot becomes available.
