St. Louis County Library Foundation and the JCC of St. Louis are pleased to host an SLCL Authors @ the J event with Pulitzer Prize-winning St. Louis Post-Dispatch Metro Columnist Tony Messenger, for a discussion and signing of his book “Profit and Punishment: How America Criminalizes the Poor in the Name of Justice.”
The event will take place on Thursday, February 29, at 7:00 p.m. at the JCC’s Staenberg Family Center – Mirowitz Performing Arts Center, 2 Millstone Campus Drive, St. Louis, MO 63146. (** Please note - the date for this event was moved from February 28 due to a scheduling conflict.)

Rhythm Kits

Two new items have been added to the Library of Things collection: Rhythm Kits and Drum Practice Pads. Rhythm kits include a variety of instruments including finger cymbals, triangle sets, tambourines, maracas and sand blocks. The Drum Practice Pad comes with a double-sided practice pad and one set of drumsticks.

St. Louis County Library’s Black History Celebration is pleased to host a special event with WNBA star and Olympic Gold Medalist A’ja Wilson. Wilson will discuss her book “Dear Black Girls: How to be True to You.” A’ja Wilson will be in conversation with retired WNBA star Sylvia Fowles. The event will take place on Thursday, February 22, 7:00 p.m. at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Rd, St. Louis MO 63117. Books will be available for purchase and signing from The Novel Neighbor.

St. Louis County Library’s Favorite Author Series presents #1 bestselling political thriller writer Steve Berry for a discussion and signing of “The Atlas Maneuver,” a new international thriller starring bookseller and intelligence agent Cotton Malone. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Branch, 300 Clarkson Rd., Ellisville, MO 63011. Books will be available for purchase at the event from The Novel Neighbor.

St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Favorite Author Series and The Novel Neighbor present acclaimed novelist Yangsze Choo for a discussion and signing of her new novel “The Fox Wife.” The event will take place on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant’s View Branch, 9700 Musick Rd., St. Louis MO, 63123.
The event is presented in partnership with The Very Asian Foundation. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from The Novel Neighbor.
