Baseball in Japan: History, Culture, and Sports Fervor

From a small after-school club introduced by an American teacher in the 19th century to producing Shohei Ohtani, the highest paid athlete in the world, baseball has surged in Japan. Using library resources, we will explore the history of America's pastime across the Pacific Ocean and some of its most notable players. In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month.
