Library Elf service ended on April 26, 2026. To check your notification preferences, log into your library account to view or edit your profile. 

 

Get a Library Card

Use your library card to check out books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, video games, musical instruments, telescopes and so much more. Your card also grants you access to databases, streaming content and online learning.

Borrowing Items

Most materials may be borrowed for 21 days. Learn more about loan periods and limits, renewals, returning items, fines and requesting material.

Reset Your Library Card PIN

If you've forgotten your PIN or want to create a new PIN, you can do so by visiting our catalog and selecting the Reset PIN link in the upper left menu.

In addition to books and other library materials, we offer free programs and services including story times, STEAM programming, summer and winter reading clubs, individualized help and so much more.

Residents living in the St. Louis County Library District who are unable to visit the library can have materials mailed directly to them or have someone pick them up.

Sweet Reads

The Sweet Reads bookmobile brings books and other library materials directly to neighborhoods in and around Spanish Lake, MO. A library card is not required to use the Sweet Reads bookmobile. The program works on the honor system and uses mostly donated or discarded library books.
