Branch History

The original Mid-County Branch opened in January 1977 after the Clayton Public Library merged with St. Louis County Library. The building was replaced in 2019 as part of the Your Library Renewed campaign. The branch is 2,500 square feet larger than the previous building, and includes a redesigned parking garage, a colorful children’s area sponsored by the William T. Kemper Foundation, private study rooms, an updated meeting room, comfortable seating and more.
