“Longmire lovers, rejoice! He’s back with a deeply personal case that uncovers family secrets . . . Learning the history of a beloved protagonist raises an exciting mystery to a higher level.”- Kirkus Reviews

Western suspense author Craig Johnson presents the nineteenth installment in the bestselling series starring Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire, basis for Netflix’s hit show “Longmire.”

The Longmire books were adapted into a blockbuster A&E television series, which debuted with 4.1 million total viewers – a record-breaking figure for an original series on the network. “Longmire,” starring Robert Taylor, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Katee Sackoff, moved to Netflix and finished with its sixth season.

In the latest Longmire novel, “The Longmire Defense”, the sheriff faces one of his most challenging crime scenes. Deep in the heart of the Wyoming countryside, Walt is called to a crime scene like few others that he has seen. This crime brings up issues that go back to Walt’s grandfather’s time in Wyoming. As Walt is confronted by the ghosts of his past, he questions the very nature of justice and mercy in the hard country of the West. Filled with back-country action, and with the great cast of characters that readers have come to love with the Longmire series, this new book will be sure to satisfy both long-time readers and those new to the series.

Craig Johnson is the author of the New York Times-bestselling Walt Longmire series and one of today’s most popular mystery writers. Johnson’s Longmire novels have been translated into fourteen languages and earned him Le Prix du Polar Nouvel Observateur, the Western Writers of America’s Spur Award, and the Watson Award among others.
