St. Louis County Library Foundation’s Reading Garden Series for Young Audiences and the Novel Neighbor are pleased to present popular middle grade author Christina Soontornvat for “City of Wishes,” the latest installment in her “Legends of Lotus Island” fantasy series.

The event will take place on Sunday, Match 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Branch, 300 Clarkson Rd., St. Louis MO 63011.

The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from the Novel Neighbor.

From three-time Newbery honor recipient Christina Soontornvat comes a compelling new young middle grade fantasy series for readers who love stories about animals, magic, and kids like them embracing their power to change the world.

During the New Year break, Plum and her friends travel to fancy, fashionable Nakhon City. There they'll stay with Sam and his mother, the powerful Lady Ubon.

At first, Plum is dazzled by how big and exciting Nakhon City is. She's never experienced anything like it! But under the glittering surface, secrets lurk. A storm is brewing, and Plum will have to harness all of her growing powers to survive it.

Christina Soontornvat is a three-time Newbery Honoree, a Sibert Honoree, and a Kirkus Prize winner. Her highly acclaimed backlist includes the middle grade books “The Tryout,” “The Last Mapmaker,” “A Wish in the Dark,” and “All Thirteen;” the picture book “To Change a Planet;” and the chapter book series Diary of an Ice Princess and Legends of Lotus Island.
