Area students will soon get a chance to learn more about the world of librarianship, thanks to a new partnership between St. Louis County Library and Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis, Inc. SLCL is opening a mini-library at JA BizTown® on October 9. The project is sponsored by Great Southern Bank.

St. Louis County Library and The Novel Neighbor bookstore are thrilled to host the fifth annual St. Louis area book festival celebrating teen readers! The St. Louis Teen Book Festival will take place on Saturday, December 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Clark Family Branch. The event is free and open to all readers. The festival features book talks, author signings, and meet-and-greet opportunities with 22 of the hottest young adult authors in a variety of genres.

St. Louis County Library is hosting a free conference for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Small Business & Nonprofit Conference will take place October 7-9, 2026. The conference offers three days of in-person and virtual networking and education on a variety of business-critical skills and strategies. Sessions will take place at the Clark Family Branch and virtually via Zoom. The conference is free, but registration is required.

We’re celebrating teens in October with special programs all month long. Activities include spooky crafts, laser tag, movie nights and a writing contest. Attend any three events and be entered into a raffle for a $50 Target gift card.

Get moving and participate in any physical activity to support your fitness goals. Pick up a log at any branch starting October 1 or log your activity on Beanstack. Track your progress and complete the challenge for a chance to win a $125 gift card to Foot Locker. All ages are welcome to participate.

MetroMarket from Operation Food Search will visit two SLCL branches year round with fresh, affordable produce, along with recipe ideas and meal planning assistance. The unit will be at the Natural Bridge Branch on Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m., and at the Lewis & Clark Branch on Wednesdays from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
