SLCL and Operation Food Search are teaming up to provide lunches to children this summer at select SLCL locations from June 1-August 14, 2026. Six SLCL branches will offer a nutritious lunch along with activities for kids ages 18 and under from 12:00–1:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Pizza will be provided on Fridays, sponsored by the St. Louis County Library Foundation.

STL Summer Adventure invites kids and teens to go exploring with a variety of fun activities from June 1-August 10. Everyone who signs up gets a free book. Complete 10 activities to earn a prize. Fun events will be offered throughout the summer featuring music, comedy, puppet performances, magic, science experiments and more.

The Adult Summer Reading Club starts June 1, 2026 and runs through August 10. Sign up and receive a free book when you register! The program offers great prizes and interesting programs all summer long.

St. Louis Summer Hero Quest is coming to St. Louis County Library! Starting Saturday, May 30, nine SLCL branches will have Hero Quest exhibits on display, featuring historical heroes from the popular children’s book series Ordinary People Change the World by award-winning author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Chris Eliopoulos in life-size books created by The Magic House.

Give the gift of music by donating your new or used band and orchestra instruments to The Sheldon’s Instrument Drive from June 1-30! Donated instruments are refurbished and distributed to young musicians in need. Look for the donation box at your local SLCL branch.

Teen Battle of the Bands is back! Get the band together and submit your best song online between June 1 – 26. The three bands with the most votes, plus two critics’ choices compete at the Battle of the Bands on Friday, July 31 at the Clark Family Branch. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners!
