In celebration of National Poetry Month, submit your original poems for inclusion in the St. Louis County Library poetry compilation available in the eMedia collection of the Indie Author Project. From the collected poems, a judge from Saint Louis Poetry Center will determine a winner for each age group to be featured in the collection. 
Ages 7 and up.

Official Rules & Guidelines

  • Open to children 7-12, teens 13-17, and adults 18+. 
  • A St. Louis County Library card is required. 
  • Limit one poem submission per person.
  • Poems may not be duplicates from the previous year. 
  • Poem can be any line length but must not exceed three (3) total pages.
  • Poetry can be on any topic provided that the content is appropriate in language and subject.  
  • Entries from children under age 13 must be signed up by a parent/guardian/caregiver.
  • Entries accepted starting Monday, April 1 and must be received by Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
