St. Louis County Library Foundation is pleased to host former State Representative, CNN political analyst and bestselling author Bakari Sellers for a discussion and signing of his book “The Moment: Thoughts on the Race Reckoning That Wasn’t and How We Can All Move Forward Now.” The event will take place on Thursday, May 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Rd., St. Louis, MO 63117. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from EyeSeeMe.
Bakari Sellers will be in conversation with Adia Harvey Wingfield, Washington University professor of sociology and author of “Gray Areas: How the Way We Work Perpetuates Racism and What We Can Do to Fix It.”

St. Louis County Library is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Clark Family Branch, located at 1640 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The opening will occur in two phases. On June 1, 2024 the Post Event Space will open to the public at 1:00 p.m. for a ticketed event with Darius Rucker, of Hootie and the Blowfish and country music fame; he will discuss his new memoir, “Life’s Too Short.” On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the Clark Family Branch will be held at 9:00 a.m. and the entire branch will open to the public immediately following.

Coding 101

Coding 101 is a four-week workshop that teaches kids ages 10-14 basic programming skills. Upon graduation, students receive a Chromebook and a t-shirt. In order to be eligible to earn a free computer, participants must attend every class. Participants will be chosen by lottery. Entries accepted April 15-21.
