Congresswoman Cori Bush held a press conference at the Natural Bridge Branch on September 7 to highlight the success of her office’s Congress in Your Neighborhood pilot program, first launched in 2021. During the press conference she formally announced the shift to the permanent continuation of the program with the expansion of an additional Neighborhood Service Center at the Natural Bridge Branch in Normandy.

The Neighborhood Service Centers provides assistance to members of the community with their casework needs, including help with navigating federal agencies, immigration assistance, grant and small business opportunities, tax resources, securing passports, and more. The launch of the Natural Bridge Branch marks the fifth Neighborhood Service Center throughout Congresswoman Bush’s district. A full list of the Congresswoman’s Neighborhood Service Centers is available here.

“After the enormous success from the pilot program, I am proud to officially announce that our Congress in Your Neighborhood program is here to stay. Our public libraries often uniquely serve as hubs for our communities. By permanently placing our constituent services teams directly in communities we are serving, we are better positioned to help those who most need us,” said Congresswoman Bush. “It is my hope that this program can be a model for other districts around the country looking to best serve and reach their constituents.”

St. Louis County Library Director & CEO Kristen Sorth said, "We are pleased to expand the partnership with Congresswoman Bush to provide additional space at the Natural Bridge Branch where individuals can connect one on one to gain greater access to programs and services. St. Louis County Library has become a comprehensive solution for a variety of important resources and services in our region. Partnerships such as this one with Congresswoman Bush helps further strengthen our support for the communities we serve."
