St. Louis County Library will host a series of gaming events this spring and summer in collaboration with the BGG Foundation. Gaming @ the Library will offer a fun and interactive gaming experience for ages 18 and under. Representatives from the BGG Foundation will provide a range of activities from the newest consoles to board games and virtual reality experiences. The programs are geared towards all skill levels and are tailored to create an inclusive and enjoyable environment for all. The series will culminate in a gaming tournament at the new Clark Family Branch in July (more details TBA). On the day of the tournament, Library staff will offer tours of the new Teen Creative Lab at the Clark Family Branch to participants and their families. The Lab will provide a high-tech, creative space for teens and will include a recording studio, green screen, gaming space, 3-D printers and more.

The programs are free, but registration is required by visiting www.slcl.org/events-classes/gaming-at-the-library

Kristen Sorth, St. Louis County Library Director & CEO said, “We are so thrilled to partner with the BGG Foundation to offer these exciting programs that empower youth through gaming. So many kids have a strong interest in gaming and we should encourage that interest. Gaming builds community while also emphasizing creativity, strategy, and critical thinking. Where better to enhance those skills than a public library!”

Robert Powell III, BGG Foundation CEO, said "Bringing gaming and learning together, BGG's Gaming @ the Library series is revolutionizing the way we engage with technology and education. Through this innovative initiative, we are creating a vibrant space where gamers, students, and the community can come together to explore, learn, and unleash their creative potential."

Sponsorship for the Gaming @ Your Library series is provided by the Clark Family. In May 2022, Robert G. Clark and family donated $4 million to St. Louis County Library and St. Louis County Library Foundation to be used toward the new library branch in Ladue. The new branch, to be named the Clark Family Branch, is expected to be completed in summer 2024 and will replace the former Headquarters building at 1640 S. Lindbergh Boulevard. The gift includes an additional $2 million dollars for St. Louis County Library to curate educational programming, including the gaming series with the BGG Foundation.

Program sites are accessible. With at least two weeks' notice, accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Call 314-994-3300 or contact us.
